FloorSpace Showroom

About Us
Since early 2007, FloorSpace has been a building, remodeling, and design materials provider in Litchfield Connecticut. Although we specialize in a vast array of flooring options, many of our materials can be placed on walls, ceilings, and many other surfaces for limiteless possibilities.

We are not looking to pitch a deal, sell you a bill of goods, or tell you a good story like some vendors. We are here to become your partner in make your Space special and functional for you. Our value comes from our service, our care, and our attention to detail. This is something I challenge you to compare from the big box chain stores. We want work with you to achieve a strong value by doing our best to competitively price match other quotes from private vendors... or at least show you where you should be concerned with competing quotes. Sometimes it is not obvious if you are getting what you are paying for and the potential problems you may encounter. At FloorSpace, we will be happy to explain the details of our quotes, why things are needed, and even the pros and cons compared to quotes from other vendors.

Whether you are a designer, builder, home owner, architect, business, or any number of roles where flooring may be needed in your Space, our goal is to work with you in the manner you would like to work. We will work directly with your clients or with you. We will work with you on pricing and compare services and products with competing bids. Our goal is to develop a relationship with you to make your life easier, perhaps safer and more functional, and of course, more visually pleasing.

Hardwood
If you are like most people you probably love the look and charm of real hardwood flooring. For centuries people have used wood floors throughout their homes to add warmth and charm. Hardwood floors never seem to go out of fashion and can add real value to your home. Today, many designers recommend hardwood floors as the main base-layer and then suggest a rug to enhance the room's overall interior color scheme.

Carpet
A product as timeless as the wool carpet is also very timely, since many people prefer to have carpets today that are made out of 100% wool for their many benefits. Some of the principle benefits of the wool carpet include that wool isn’t likely to harbor dust mites or be an indoor pollutant (though some people are allergic to wool). Wool fibers have a natural stain resisting property called lanolin, which may help resist some stains. A wool carpet is also biodegradable and made from a renewable resource, so it can be called "green" carpeting. Wool is also considered a good fiber because of its durability.

Bamboo
Bamboo flooring is a hybrid product similar to engineered hardwoods. But it's not wood: It's a grass. Bamboo stalks are milled into strips, then reassembled as floorboards. The boards are typically 3/8 in. or 5/8 in. thick, and have either square edges (on unfinished boards) or microbeveled ones (on pre-finished boards).

Depending on how the strips are aligned, the flooring resembles either quartersawn or flat-sawn hardwood. The unmistakable figure of the bamboo nodes adds a visual interest to the "flat-sawn" boards.

Tile
Ceramic tile is a natural product made up of clay, a number of other naturally-occurring minerals and water. Ceramic tile comes in both glazed and unglazed tiles. Glazed ceramic tile has a ceramic coating applied to the tile body which gives the tile its color and finish. Ceramic tile is a popular choice for your interior floors and walls and offers unlimited decorating possibilities.

Cork
Another ambassador from "green" land, cork (like linoleum and bamboo) originates from a natural source not endangered by its harvesting. Cork tiles are made of the bark of the cork oak tree, bark that can be peeled off every decade (the trees live to be 150 years old). Frank Lloyd Wright liked cork, and he installed it in houses where it endures today.
